Simons, a mathematician by training and a visionary investor, was the architect behind Renaissance Technologies, widely regarded as one of the most successful hedge funds ever established. His legacy extends far beyond staggering returns, however, as he pioneered the field of quantitative investing, forever altering the landscape of Wall Street.
